only a two minute walk from the lovely lake of Lough Corrib and only 2 miles from the historic village of Oughterard. It is also a great base from which to explore the famous Connemara area with
its stony mountains, turf bogs and numerous lakes. Kylemore Abbey and the renowned scenic Sky Road are only a short drive away.
If your interests lay in outdoor pursuits, you may just park your car
in our private car park and set off on the many breathtaking walks surrounding
Forest Hill. Others may chose to take a drive through
the mountains and explore the little towns nestled among them, such as
Clifden. Others still may want to shop 'til they drop!
Oughterard has a nice selection of craft shops as well as Galway City
being only 17 miles from Oughterard, it is the ideal place to pick up
European fashions and Irish souvenirs alike.In the evenings you may chose
to enjoy a home cooked meal in our candle-lit dining room or go into Oughterard
to listen to traditional Irish music while dining in one of the many fine
restaurants. There is also a lively night life in its more than
10 pubs!
