The Rock of Cashel is one of the most prominent of Tipperary's landmarks. A large group of mediaeval buildings sit atop a rocky outcrop that dominates the skyline of the town of Cashel. Lough Derg is the largest of the Shannon's lakes, and is almost an inland sea.
